Papplewick Pumping Station

Papplewick Pumping Station is a fascinating historic attraction designed in the 1880s that pumped fresh water to the residents of Nottingham. Millions of gallons were pumped every day at this Victorian water pumping station, which is now a Scheduled Ancient Monument offering a wonderful day out at its museum and landscaped grounds. The pumping station has many original features including an Engine House with twin beam engines and a Boiler House with six Lancashire Boilers. The venue holds regular steaming events and guided tours, as well as being a wedding venue. 
How to get there
By car: Papplewick Pumping Station is close to both the A60 and junction 27 of the M1. From the M1, follow Mansfield Road/A608, A611, and B6011 to Mansfield Road/A60. Turn left onto Mansfield Road/A60 and right to Papplewick Pumping Station.
By train: Hucknall station (4.2 miles).
