The route
Pleasley Walk trail starts at Pleasley Pit Country Park car park, in Pleasley village, Derbyshire, and takes visitors on a trip along the Meden Trail. Discover the Meden Trail Nature Reserve as you take a wander along Pleasley Vale Woods. The Meden Trail is a disused railway track with calcareous grassland and woodland, limestone crags and fissures, and wildlife including woodpeckers and butterflies.


Places to visit
Head to the reclaimed colliery site of Pleasley Pit Country Park that is now a Local Nature Reserve with swans, wading birds, dragonflies and even grass snakes. Hikers will enjoy the beautiful wildflowers in the spring months at this gorgeous destination where they can also visit the Mining Museum.
